Editorial policy
This page explains how the Danang.Plus English edition researches, writes and corrects its guides. It applies to every guide published on en.danang.plus.
The sources we use
We use sources in this order:
- The official website or announcement of the organization responsible: the city government, a transport operator, a museum, a hospital or the business itself, including pages in Vietnamese.
- Reports from established Vietnamese news outlets, with a publication date.
- A business's own Google Maps listing, for details the business posts itself.
- Other map listings, social media, review sites and forums, which we use as leads to find the sources above, not as sources of facts. When at least two independent visitors report the same thing, a guide may mention it as what visitors say.
When sources disagree, we either tell you and give each figure, or we include only the part they agree on. We do not quietly pick one and hide the other.
Numbers and claims
Every price, time, distance, address and phone number in a guide has a source and the date we checked it, listed under "Sources and how we checked" at the end. If we cannot find a source, we leave the detail out rather than guess. A sentence in a guide must not say more than its source: if the source says "about", so does the guide.
US dollar prices are approximate conversions from Vietnamese dong, using an exchange rate whose source and date are listed under "Sources and how we checked", rounded to the nearest 50 cents.
No invented visits
Our guides are based on published information that you can check, not on our own visits, and we never write as if we had been there. Phrases such as "we tried" or "when we visited" will appear only if a member of our team actually goes and we keep a record of who went and when.
How guides are made with AI tools
AI tools research and write our guides. They read the sources, copy the figures into a fact sheet, draft the guide from that sheet, check every number in the draft against the sheet and review the wording. A separate AI session, which did not write the guide, then checks it against the fact sheet to find figures that do not match or sentences that go further than the sources. Before publishing, the guide is also rendered at phone-screen width to check that it displays correctly.
A person at Danang.Plus chooses the topics, sets the rules on this page and receives a summary of each guide after it is published. No one reads a guide before it is published, so every guide must pass all of the checks above. If a detail cannot be checked against a source, it is left out, not filled in from the AI tools' general knowledge.
Photos
We use photos published by the place or organization itself, such as a city tourism portal, an operator or a hospital, and credit them under each photo. We may crop a photo or adjust its brightness, but we never add, remove or combine content. We do not use photos taken by visitors.
Dates
The publication date is the date a guide first appeared. The "Updated" date at the end of a guide changes only when its information changes, for example a new price, timetable or link.
Independence
We do not accept payment to put a place on a guide's list or to rank it. Paid placements, if any, appear only in a separate box labeled "Sponsored picks", outside any ranking, with links marked as sponsored. If we add affiliate links, we will update this page and our privacy policy before they go live and explain how they are labeled.
Topics we do not cover
We do not write about karaoke bars, massage parlors or adult content. We do not comment on politics or religion, and we do not name people involved in criminal cases.
Corrections
If a price, timetable or phone number in a guide is wrong, email contact@genplusmedia.com or use our contact page, and include the link to the guide and what has changed. When we receive a correction, we check the source again. If the guide is wrong, we correct it and change its "Updated" date.
