Choosing where to stay in Da Nang is mostly a choice between the beach, the river, a forested peninsula, a strip of beach resorts, Hoi An and a night on Ba Na Hills (Bà Nà). In April 2026, the city counted more than 2,437 places to stay for tourists, so pick the area first and the hotel second. Hotel addresses have also carried new ward names since July 1, 2025, the day Hoi An became part of the city.
In September and November 2025, the Son Tra peninsula (bán đảo Sơn Trà) was closed to visitors, and by November 18, Hoi An had flooded three times in three weeks. Both happened in the months when storms mainly hit Da Nang, September to December.

The best area to stay in Da Nang for your trip
Start with one question: do you want to stay by the sea or in the city, by the river? In Da Nang, stay on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the coast road beside My Khe Beach (biển Mỹ Khê), if you want the sea, or on Bach Dang Street by the Han River (sông Hàn), in Hai Chau ward, if you would rather be in the city.
The table sums up the six areas and the ward or commune their hotel addresses have used since July 1, 2025.
| Area | What it puts you near | Ward or commune on addresses |
|---|---|---|
| My Khe beachfront and An Thuong | The beach; An Thuong's hotels and guesthouses | Son Tra, An Hai or Ngu Hanh Son |
| Han River, central Hai Chau | The Han River and Bach Dang Street | Hai Chau |
| Son Tra peninsula (Bai Bac) | Forest, 10 km (about 6 miles) northeast of the city center | Son Tra |
| Non Nuoc and Truong Sa | Beach resorts, Marble Mountains | Ngu Hanh Son |
| Hoi An and the Ha My coast | The old town, An Bang, Cua Dai, Ha My | Hoi An, Hoi An Tay, Hoi An Dong, Dien Ban Dong |
| Ba Na Hills | A night at the top of the mountain | Ba Na commune |
Except at Ba Na Hills, the hotels named below come from the Danang Fantasticity list of 5-star hotels and only show which ward an address uses; they are not a ranking. From the city center, the airport is about 3 km (2 miles) away and Hoi An about 30 km (19 miles), about 45 minutes by road.
Beachfront and An Thuong
Read the ward on a beachfront address, because since July 1, 2025, the coast road has been split among three wards. Hotels on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the coast road, sit in Son Tra, An Hai or Ngu Hanh Son ward: number 148 is in Son Tra ward, 118–120 in An Hai and 270 in Ngu Hanh Son.
An Thuong (An Thượng) was in the former My An ward, which became part of Ngu Hanh Son ward on July 1, 2025. The Danang Fantasticity website, the city's tourism portal, calls it the "Western Quarter." In 2023, the former My An ward had more than 850 hotels and guesthouses and more than 700 rooms and houses for rent, with many foreigners living and working there.
The portal describes My Khe Beach as a stretch of about 900 m along the coast road, while at least one travel site says it is 6 km (about 3.5 miles) long. Lifeguards work on the tourist beaches from 5:00 am to 6:30 pm between October 1 and March 14, and from 4:30 am to 7:00 pm the rest of the year.
By the Han River: central Hai Chau
Stay on the river side if you would rather be in the city than by the sea. Hotels on Bach Dang Street in the 5-star list, such as the Novotel Danang Premier Han River at 36–38, are in Hai Chau ward. On the river, the Dragon Bridge (Cầu Rồng) breathes fire and water at 9:00 pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and on holidays.

The Han Market (chợ Hàn) is at 119 Tran Phu, and a 2023 page on the tourism portal gave its hours as 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. The Da Nang Museum is at 31 Tran Phu. The free WOW Bus to Ba Na Hills leaves from the Novotel on Bach Dang Street until December 31, 2026; see Ba Na Hills tickets for the schedule.
Son Tra peninsula
Choose the peninsula if you want a resort away from the city center, but plan your transport before you book. The Son Tra peninsula lies 10 km (about 6 miles) northeast of the city center and has about 4,370 ha of forest. The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula, at Bai Bac (Bãi Bắc), is in Son Tra ward.

The peninsula opens to visitors from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm between October and February and closes during severe weather warnings. Visits were suspended from 1:00 pm on September 27, 2025. On November 4, 2025, all roads on the peninsula were closed to traffic and visitors, so ask your resort how it handles transfers when that happens.
Non Nuoc and the Truong Sa resort strip
Pick Non Nuoc and Truong Sa Street if you want a beach resort and an easy trip to Hoi An. Non Nuoc beach (biển Non Nước) runs for about 5 km (3 miles) below the Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn), which are about 8 km (5 miles) from the city center. From Non Nuoc, the drive to Hoi An takes about 30 minutes along Truong Sa and Lac Long Quan streets, and public bus route 02 to Hoi An runs along Le Van Hien Street.

The resorts on Truong Sa Street in the 5-star list, such as the Hyatt Regency at number 5, are in Ngu Hanh Son ward. So are the Pullman at 101 and the Furama at 103–105 Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the coast road. At least one travel site lists the Pullman under downtown, so check the ward on the address, not the area label.
Hoi An and the Ha My coast
Stay in Hoi An if the old town is the main reason for your trip, and in central Da Nang if Hoi An is only a day trip, because the old town is about 45 minutes from central Da Nang. The old town is in Hoi An ward and An Bang (An Bàng) is in Hoi An Tay ward, while a hotel at 276 Cua Dai (Cửa Đại) Street is in Hoi An Dong ward. Four Seasons The Nam Hai, on the Ha My (Hà My) coast, is in Dien Ban Dong ward.

Check how close a Hoi An hotel is to the river or the sea before you book. On October 27, 2025, streets along the Hoai River (sông Hoài) flooded to nearly 2 m, and foreign guests in hotels and homestays there were moved out by boat. On November 18, 2025, Hoi An flooded for the third time in three weeks.
The sea embankments in Hoi An Tay and Hoi An Dong wards were also eroded along more than 3 km (about 2 miles) in late October 2025. See Hoi An Ancient Town and how to get from Da Nang to Hoi An if you split your stay.
A night at Ba Na Hills
Consider one night on the mountain if you want to be at Ba Na Hills in the evening and early morning. Ba Na Hills sits 1,487 m above sea level, in Ba Na commune. In July 2024, Sun World described the Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills as the only resort hotel at the top, with 461 rooms, reached by cable car.

Sun World also asked guests to arrive before 4:30 pm to check in and catch the last cable cars of the day. It also listed a reception desk at the foot of the mountain, so confirm with the hotel where to check in before you go.
Rainy season, busy dates and your passport
If you travel between September and December, the months when storms mainly hit Da Nang, ask a hotel before you book what it does for guests if a storm closes the beach. On November 5, 2025, ahead of Typhoon Kalmaegi, the city's tourism department told hotels, especially those on the coast, to advise guests not to leave the hotel or go to the beach in dangerous weather. It also told them to prepare plans to move guests to safety.
Safety note: In late October 2025, swimming was stopped on Da Nang's beaches during the storms. Follow your hotel's instructions when a storm warning is issued.
During those October storms, several resorts cut prices or gave free extra nights to guests who had to stay longer because of the weather. For rain and typhoons by month, see the best time to visit Da Nang.
Book early if your dates fall during the fireworks festival, which ran from May 30 to July 11 in 2026. On its final night, hotels in the five central wards, Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, An Hai, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son, were 95–98% full, and about 85% of rooms were taken citywide. Two holidays in 2026 were less full: occupancy was about 70% citywide on New Year's Day and 65–70% over the September 2 holiday.
Wherever you stay, have your passport ready at check-in. Your hotel or host must ask for your passport before you check in and must register your stay with the local police. If the registration is done on a paper form, it is due within 12 hours of your arrival.
